Family Court Therapy

Aside from my work as a private practice therapist, I have over 16 years of experience with Superior Court of California, Contra Costa County, as a Family Court Mediator. I bring this expertise into my private practice by offering specialized services within the framework of family law.   

Co-parenting Counseling and Private Mediation
These services are very similar in nature. The difference is that private mediation results in the creation of actual custody documents, which can be turned into court orders. Co-Parenting Counseling is designed to assist parents who already have court orders but are struggling to learn how to cooperate with each other and make good decisions on behalf of their children. Both services are very directive and business-oriented, with specific agendas created for sessions and summaries of the meetings provided post-session.  Please note:  co-parenting counseling cannot occur when parents are engaged in active litigation.  

Reunification Therapy
A specialized form of family therapy, Reunification Therapy is aimed at assisting families where a parent-child relationship has been ruptured, or, in some cases, reunifying an absent parent with a child.

Family Court Consultations
I am available for single-session consultations on issues related to divorce, age-appropriate child custody plans, and when or how to involve family court. My years of experience in this field can help you navigate this often confusing maze and make positive decisions on behalf of your children.
